Did you just eat a lime? I'm just curious because that
is what most of your faces look like to me as I walk
around Seattle. I have lived in other cities so I know
the difference. When did mean & unfriendly become so
hip? Would it seriously kill you to say hi or hello
back or smile in return just once? Do you know of
people who died after saying hello to someone? If a
cute dog walks or someone with a baby is near you do
you maintain that lime face at all costs?
Are you afraid someone will give you a ticket for
accidently starting to show the beginning of a smile
on any part of your face? Is is it truly that
difficult to just say hi if someone says hi to you?
What exactly are you going to lose by doing that?
Someone might think you are breathing and that would
be terrible especially if a total stranger sees that
you are human, can't allow that apparently. Now what,
they know you talk, how horrible. I have looked right
at someone and said hi, and they just look at me
blankly like they can't hear or speak when they
certainly can. The energy that face takes to look
particularly tight with no smile and jaw clenched,
that takes more than just saying hi back. Ignoring
people is so groovy, let's all do it.
What is the issue precisely that encourages you to
continue to grind your teeth if anyone so much as
looks in your direction yet you think it is perfectly
okay to stare well past the four seconds that will
make most people uncomfortable especially because you
certainly are not smiling. It is a face of judgement,
superiority and freshly eaten limes. I for one am
tired of these morbid faces of doom even on the
sunniest days. What is it? How cool am I, I never
smile. I am beyond above everyone else, I don't have
to say hello back to anyone ever, why should I?
Deadpan poker face you are doing exactly what to make
the world a better place? What? Are you running a
country and have no time to say hi or smile? If
someone is truly ill or passed away in your family
that is different, but all of you did not have that
happen daily, year after year. Are you writing another
Pulitzer prize winning novel and are just in your head
all the time? Are you truly above everyone else on the
planet and don't need to acknowledge any friendly
hellos ever? Maybe it just takes too much effort to
acknowledge another person is there?
What exactly have you done that you are so important &
hip? Really, just because your hair & clothes are
slick you are truly magnificent? No, you are just like
everyone else like it or not. No lack of smiling or
saying hello will make you anything special nor
impress anyone. What have you actually done? Finished,
completed, not just talked about or are talking about.
You are in a band, so what, so are thousands of
people. You have style, so what. Drop the narcisist
attitude and stop looking at everyone like you ate a
bag of limes. It isn't confidence, it is just teenage
boring angst and it is so fake you're not fooling
anyone with that hipster girl & boy act for a second.
Do something, don't just act like you did it's
absolutely ridiculous. People who really have
accomplished something to make the world a better
place & not just for themselves don't need to walk &
dress purely for attitude's sake nor ignore everyone
else because they know they have truly made a
difference.
Stop acting like you are so beyond it all and just say
hi & smile for once in your life to an absolute
stranger. What a concept, being nice, wow, how hard is
that? Stop for one second & think how it feels for
someone you don't know to say hi to you, what have you
lost by saying hi back? That really shouldn't take
years of seeing the same person walk down the street
to work daily. You aren't playing poker while you sit
in a cafe, go to work, shop, or walk your dog so lose
the poker faces.
