I'm unable to find an agenda or speaker list for the noon antiwar demonstration this Saturday (Sept 24) at Westlake Center. I only know that it is planned to coincide with the national antiwar march in D.C.
Does anyone have agenda info about the Westlake demonstration? We are inclined to attend for entertainment value if any Bush-Cheney chickenhawks are expected to counter demonstrate like the proudly beer-bellied morons who tried last month to disrupt Cindy Sheehan's antiwar vigil outside the Bush pig farm in Crawford TX.

I was at the anti-war protest on Saturday and I must say I was disappointed in a few things:
1) Too few young people
I was surrounded by vetrans/retirees and families for the most part. There should have been way more young people there.
2) Poor to mediocre speakers
When it comes to something as serious as stopping an unjust war, you'd think we could get a powerful and articulate speaker to show up and get everybody fired up. I had to stand through some bad poetry and a Canadian lady talking about oppression in the Philippines. The Philippines! I know there's bad shit going on everywhere, but come on - this is supposed to be an anti war protest. Let's try to stay on topic, yes?
3) Horrendously bad music
I don't know who these guys were, but they sucked some seriously dirty hippy ass. One of their songs was "Bullets of Love". You can't get much more wankerific than that. COME ON! We live in Seattle, a place with a wealth of good musicians and I'm sure at least one of these good bands would play for such a good cause. WTF?!
4) Bad communication
Way too many people didn't even know there was a protest, let alone the specifics of the itinerary. Whoever was organizing this thing needs a serious kick in the ass. You obviously need some major help. Please just ask.
Oh yeah, and drop the cliche hippy bullshit.
