View Full Version : To The Management: You Suck

You came in and bought the company. You had meetings,
stood in front of the employees and talked about how
if we all pulled together as a team that we could
accomplish anything. You said you believed in what the
company had always stood for. Thirty years of
history! Thirty years of being recognized as a leader
in the industry! And, you said, look around - how
amazing, the number of people that have been here for
ten or more years. What a dedicated staff. This is
remarkable, we've never seen anything like it. You
said, your dedication tells us how good this company
is.

And then you started to make changes. It was slow at
first, and didn't seem all bad. But then a couple
months ago that all changed. Change came fast.
Suddenly there are more top-level managers than there
have ever been, and you are proud of your national
recruiting efforts. You are bringing in big names at
the top. The people who are now running the show have
decided on a whole new way of doing business.

And then, layoffs: sixteen people, some of
them with more than a dozen years with the company.
You said you had to, that you had no choice. Business
decision. Had to be done. But the new CEO is coming
on soon - his salary, whatever that is, is acceptable
to you. Is it more than the pay of all sixteen people?

You said you wanted to hear what we thought. When
people told you, they were talked to afterwords.
Speaking up is requested (by your words) and punished
(by your actions). And you even did it right out in
the open where lots of us could see you.

Your hypocrisies are showing. You are doing one thing
and saying another. Right out in the open! Maybe you
think this is how business is run. Maybe for you this
is true. It isn't for all of us.

Loyalties are almost all lost to you. The people who
don?t know yet will know soon; word travels. It?s a
small world. For years there was good word of mouth
and it helped the business. Now it just might work
the other way, who knows.

If you succeed with your business, it will be
something else than it has always been. You clearly
think you know best, so to you, good luck. You can
have it. You will be forgotten. The life that was
before you, and the life that comes after you, will be
remembered.
