On "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me," NPR's nationally syndicated weekend news entertainment program, The Stranger was featured in a joke.
During the segment where the contestants present two fictional news story's along with one true but quirky account from the previous weeks news, one of the fictional accounts was about a vegan who was grossed out by a weenie eating contest and decided to start an eating contest for vegans.
