I'm aware of the guidelines provided under I-692: qualified patients can obtain a doctors permission to possess, use and grow small amounts for personal use. Great law, seems to be popular.
However, it seems to me that there is a disparity between what the law allows and the desire by the electorate to have qualified patients obtain marijuana for medicinal uses, and what may actually be happening in reality. My sense of the issue after reading a story like this:

is that there is a disconnection between qualified patients and access to medicinal marijuana. I don't think that most people who qualify for its use would grow it, so does that mean that they go to the black market? Do they have collectives where they buy in bulk or share with their friends who grow it for their own qualifying condition?
If I were to start with no knowledge of how to get pot, and had a qualifying condition, what would be my starting point? If I had access to marijuana and wanted to provide it to qualifying patients what would my course of action be?
Any anecdotes out there? I think that this is an interesting issue that I would like to learn more about and write an article on.
