"freedom" "democracy" and many other politically charged phrases cannot be sent through the filters Microsoft has installed in its PRC servers. The company defends this cooperation with fascism by saying its presence in China allows people to communicate in other ways(as if other ways truly matter once that level of censorship has been implemented for corporate profit.)

Discuss.

Anybody gonna defend Big Nerd's deal with the devil?

Um, I'm not. I don't know what the Chinese Commies said to BG or if this was part of whatever deal Microsoft made to provide software, but given the opportunity to further expand (like they need it at this point) Microsoft will take it 99.9 times out of 100, even if it means complying with fascist censorship.

But really, would you expect any less from the software antichrist? Ken Hutcherson showed us that Microsoft will not let morals and principles get in the way of their bottom line.
