I have played there before. The sound is decent I'll give you that. we had a great time with the bands we played with. what sucked about it was:

a stage that fits your drummer
the shitty vh1 videos between sets
having the staff lock the door right at midnight before everyone has arrived
having the staff shut down the bar right at midnight before everyone has arrived

maker (Y) I'm sure that the emp is the best venue you guys ever played. it would be for us too if we had spent years on the jimmy z's/waldo's/lakepoint circut. luckily we never have, our would, play the eastside tavern circut.

Liquid Lounge is a terrible live music place. Just like Sky Church, probably an afterthought to use it for live music. Does it even have a stage? Didn't last time I was there. Too cramped, you can't see the band from most of the seats, all the seats if people are crowded around up front. In a building dedicated to music and costing $130 million, the live music rooms' shortcomings are even more of a joke.

as much as I want to link our website I really can't after the bitching I've done. honestly, I'm really grateful for the opportunities we've had in this town, and for any of the shows we've played anywhere. for some reason though, The Stranger forums have become my venting grounds, my secret place to be a bitter, sarcastic, whiny, asshole. In all reality, I'm none of those things.

yea, there is some confusion here...

i am in a band called maker and we played at the moore to help the art institute students out..... the 4 people in the audience were girlfriends that were let in as our guests

but i like the liquid lounge...... money up front, good sound, no cover and the booking guy that we deal with is a good guy as well..... rather play that small stage than a large one say at the ballard firehouse.... not a bad place either except for the shady people running the shows.
