Does Anniemal get played on KEXP? Are her songs spun anywhere in Seattle? Who has heard of Annie here? Are her beats, technically speaking, more 70s than 80s or does she bridge the gap or is she 70s portending the 80s?
...I haven't felt a pleasure this guilty since first hearing Daft Punk's vocoder on Discovery.

I like that new CD a lot...I believe she does get airplay on KEXP and I've heard DJs playing her tracks at clubs as well--one of the DJs at the War Room last night, in fact, but I can't remember which song it was.

I haven't heard her but JM's kind words and the review on pitchfork is grossly adoring enough for me to track it down. This on pitchdork today:

Sounds like I should spend the money the disc and not the show...

Live music doesn't do much for me anyway, but yeah, I was reading somewhere that one of her two shows in NY was in a lame venue... long, skinny club or something and couldn't fit that many people. The other problems weren't mentioned... but it might have been a fan's perspective.
She is supposed to be doing a US tour in September. Maybe she'll have it all figured out by then.

So I was out of state when Annie opened for Royksopp at the Showbox on Septemeber 16th... how was the show?
She seems to think it was her best show (and audience; high-five Seattle!) so far on her US tour.
I would have liked to have gone. I like Royksopp too, but I haven't heard much of their new album.

I'm late to this party, but I went and I had a great time. She was really fun and engaging, sounded great, had 2 guys accompanying her, one of whom sang part of "Chewing Gum" (he did the verses through a vocoder and she "answered" with the chorus). The only complaint I'd have is that she only played 7 songs! (I think--I WAS drinking.) It was kinda short. She did a new song called "Wedding" that I think you can get on iTunes now.
