Hey, this is more of a classifieds type posting, but it's so specific that I think only a personal referral is going to make this happen. Our band is looking to do some "pre-production" and serious songwriting, and we would like to find a place outside of our normal element to focus on music. Nature has always been inspiring to me. It seems to have a magical ability to settle and focus the mind on what really matters and allows the heart to be expressed without cynicism or hesitation.
Ideally we could find a house, with a huge as hell room with a view we could set up our gear in for a few weeks that was surrounded by beautiful wilderness, clean, fresh, pine scented air and quiet that would only be broken by the sounds of our music. I know this sounds pretty hippy dippy but oh well, what can I say. :-) I spent a summer house sitting for an anthropology professor in college on a 300 acre farm with a lake and the songs I wrote then are still some of the best I've ever written.
We don't have a ton of money or else we'd just go to Bear Creek Studios or something, which we may do at some point but right now we just want to do "pre-production" before we go into a real $tudio.
Churches, school auditoriums, barns etc... might also work. Just something within a couple hours drive of Seattle that has some charm to it and where we can be loud as hell without disturbing anyone. Maybe we could even set up on a deck and play to the mountains and the trees if the weather cooperates. Anyway, with all this genuine expression I am sure I have left myself open to some wisecracks. This is the internet so... But yeah, if you have any ideas please let me know. Feel free to call or send a private message: Josh - 206.229.7377. Thanks.
