I am the brightest piece of sunshine to ever walk into your life. Admit it, when we first set eyes on each other, it was hard to resist. There’s not a day that’s gone by since then where I haven’t thought about you. And, there’s not a day that will go by where thoughts of you don’t weigh heavily on my mind.
Not only did I make major life changes to be with you, but have done nothing but shower you with my love and affection. I held you when you cried, I calmed you when you were stricken with irrational fears, and I let you go in peace when you walked out my door for the last time.
I enjoyed every minute and would do it all again without hesitation. When you left, you left me with the deepest hurt, one I’m not sure I’ll fully recover from. But, you also left me with some amazing memories and a warm heart. That spot that you warmed up will never cool down.
I will let you go and will move on with my life, but need to tell you that there is one thing I was not completely honest about. I only pretended to like your stupid country music and never understood your infatuation with Dwight Yoakam’s annoying-ass voice. I'd make small talk about really liking that Long White Cadillac song, but the reality is that I hated that song and every eardrum shattering note to come out of that fucker's mouth.
Other than that, I really did love you.
